Uhm-- [That small sound slips out of her in surprise before she can stop it, cut off by his lips on hers. B-ko can't help the startled expression on her face. She thought that she'd be the one to kiss him next, but... it's nice having him take the initiative, too.

It feels the same as the first. Light, a little scratchy because of the chapped skin, but overall it's nice. She breathes as lightly as she can through her nose, letting her fingers curl just a little under his.

The kiss reaches five but she lets it pass, this time. Instead, she presses into it after a moment's hesitation, deepening the kiss. Her face is a brighter red than it was before. She didn't expect this to feel so pleasant.]

[Since he knows nothing about the rules of kissing, he wonders if B-ko does; if, possibly right now she's showing him how someone should kiss and how it works. But he saw that moment of surprise on her face, too. Did she not expect him to do it...? But if she's kissing back, then by that logic it must be all right that he did.

A-ya usually doesn't have a problem taking in different reactions at the same time and quickly processing them but this is beyond his scope. Her fingers curling, her lips pressing harder, the way she flushes that compliments her skin tone and hair so well that even something that often looks silly on others looks beautiful on her.

It's just an objective fact that she's beautiful.

He hesitates before trying to link their fingers, clumsy but managing to hold her hand. That's right, isn't it? As for his lips, he parts them and tries moving them a little, unsure if that's even what he's supposed to do.

Right, right, he has to close his eyes but... he wants to know her reactions. He wants to see her face. Even if he can't see it well like this, he wants to know.]

[Ah. A-ya is holding her hand. His mouth is moving and she isn't sure what to do except sit there with a burning face. She, who's usually in charge and certain of what she wants to do, finds herself floundering for answers. If he's kissing her back like this, it meant he liked her back, didn't it? He wants to kiss her. That's why he stole that second kiss from her.

B-ko shifts her fingers so she can lace them together. It goes much more smoothly than his attempt. To be honest, she wants to close her eyes again. Being kissed and being stared at the same time-- there's a sense of shyness that rises that she hasn't felt in a long, long time.

He said earlier that he was just ordinary. Maybe even worse than ordinary. But he doesn't get it, does he? All she wants is someone, ordinary or extraordinary, to look at her, to really look at her.

And A-ya did that.

Shit.

She likes him because of that. Despite his mean smirk or the infuriating way he spoke or his pasty skin--

She really did like him.

Matching the movement of his lips isn't too hard. All she has to do is open them a bit and try to fit into the spaces he left. Even as she tilts her head to better accommodate for it, she has to close her eyes. It's too much for her. If she scoots closer, will it be easier for them...?]

[They're working together on this kiss. It occurs to him like that, like they both want to make it work and enjoy it, which is... it's something. He doesn't even know what that means for him, so what it means for her is stranger still.

Logically there aren't many choices here... People don't kiss for very many reasons. But applying those reasons to them doesn't add up to anything he can understand.

B-ko's actions feel much smoother at it but he supposes that's natural. She's probably heard about it in detail from friends and has an interest in it, as evidenced by this moment. She really should be leading it. It would be better probably.

Should he touch her hair? Doing something like that happens in kisses. Why is he so all right with this, to the point of trying harder for her, anyway? What could he gain?

Relationships are boring. They're mundane, part of the boring everyday world. Ordinary, she said, and she's right. So, he shouldn't have interest. But if it's B-ko, then isn't it interesting by default? She's interesting. So, that's why kissing her is interesting.

That's why he reaches up and brushes his fingers through her hair. It's why he keeps moving his lips, shy and experimenting with the idea, why he scoots closer as well until their legs are pushed together.

Finally, it makes a little sense. Without that, this would be...

[It's ridiculous how aware she is of each movement. It's gotten cold in the station-- no, she wouldn't say something as stupid like he was warm or anything of that sort-- but his presence beside her is comforting and takes her mind off of the chill.

Something brushes against her hair. Surprised, she opens her eyes just a bit.

... he's being rather gentle with her. It feels almost kind. Is that the sort of person A-ya can be...?

B-ko breaks off the kiss to catch a shallow breath. It wasn't that good, she told herself. Nothing amazing happened. No fireworks were set off. But she can't quite look him right in the face.]

[He caught the look of surprise again. Was that all right? She says 'again' but...

A-ya blinks slowly. This requires clarification. Even if it might annoy her and cause this facet of B-ko to vanish.]

...Ah, the kiss or... [Well, he didn't do anything special. All he did was touch her hair. So instead of saying it, he touches the side of her forehead and runs his fingers through her hair again, tucking it behind her ear as he does.]

[It'd been so long since she had someone do that for her--was the last time that happened been with her mother, when she was little? Since she had grown up, she had to make sure she didn't pose any problems to anyone.

B-ko feels dangerously fragile right now. Her perfect mask is going to be hurt at this rate. Still, almost shyly, she nods.]

... yeah, that. That was okay.

[Exploring this new feeling is interesting. It passes the time, makes things different, like all feelings do, and he wishes he could write down what seeing such a vulnerable look makes him feel. It's... not a bad feeling. It isn't anything like fear. It's something softer, a little sweet.]

Your hair is even more silky than it looks. It's impressive. You're perfectly attractive just looking at you but it isn't just visual... Everything about you goes so much deeper. It's amazing.

If you want a full analysis, your hair has a pleasantly cool feeling to it. It has the same soothing feeling to the touch as silk would. Silk is overused as a description but you know why it's suiting? It's something naturally impressive because of its own qualities. I think that's why it's used so much. But in this case it fits.

Like your lips look attractive, similar to two cherry blossom petals, but they feel exactly like that. As the school beauty, it would be easy to write off your perfection as shallow but it's actually as it looks. Even your true face continues to be interesting and surprise me.

[She shouldn't have pushed him for that. The more she hears him talk on and on as if it's normal and true, the tighter that strange feeling in her chest grows. So she goes back to what she understands best.]

She hated it. Because the perfect imposter was one that was untouchable. Having a mark on it meant it was reachable.

But she's not the imposter right now, is she? She's not B-ko. She's just herself.

And maybe, just maybe. She wanted to hear for once that someone wants that self to be around, in that honest and simple manner everyone complimented her mask with.

B-ko hunches her shoulders. She can't believe what she's about to say.]

... it's not a crush. [Her mouth feels dry. She shakes her head, and her voice becomes stronger.] It should be obvious to someone like you. It's not a crush if both of us share it.
